Structure and Evolution of the SW pennine Basin and adjacent areas

Traditional techniques of geological surveying do not always reveal in detail the subsurface structure. Seismic reflection profiling methods have been refined, and these are of particular importance to the oil industry. The application of these methods and other basin analysis techniques have greatly enhanced the knowledge of the structure and evolution of the land and the adjoining continental shelf - and significantly increased the economic resources of the nation.
