Single Specimen of Oolitic Limestone

Single specimen of Oolitic Limestone. Remember all our prices include VAT & carriage within the UK.

Oolitic Limestone is a type of sedimentary rock that is composed of small, spherical grains called ooids. Ooids are typically composed of calcium carbonate and form as a result of the precipitation of minerals around a nucleus, such as a shell fragment or sand grain.

It has a light-coloured appearance and a smooth texture, and often contains fossilised remains of marine organisms such as shells and coral.

Oolitic Limestone forms in warm, shallow marine environments, and is commonly used as a building material and in the production of lime.
