"The tragic twin earthquakes of June 24th 2026 will probably go down
as one of the worst natural disasters of modern times. In this specially
extended Zoom session we will explain why this happened by looking at
the regional and more local tectonics. We'll also examine what could
have been done to minimize the number of casualties, by way of design
for buildings and infrastructure, especially bridges and roads."

Aiming to cover:

• The complex plate boundaries shaping northern Venezuela
• How tectonic forces have formed mountains, faults, and basins
• The region’s earthquakes and wider Caribbean geological setting
