Single Specimen of Micritic Limestone

Single Specimen of Micritic Limestone

Single specimen of Micritic Limestone. Remember all our prices include VAT & carriage within the UK.

Micritic Limestone is a fine-grained sedimentary rock that is primarily composed of microscopic particles of calcium carbonate, known as micrite. It has a light-coloured appearance and a smooth texture, and often contains fossilised remains of marine organisms such as shells and coral.

It forms in shallow, warm marine environments where the accumulation of organic matter and precipitation of calcium carbonate create a limestone deposit.

Micritic Limestone has many practical applications, including as a building material and in the production of cement.
